Taiwanese Black Sesame Oil Soup and the Follies of starting a new blog

So where to begin... Life as we all know it, has some major highs and lows... and I'm not saying this is the lowest I've ever been but here we are and were making it work cause it's what we do. Even on some of the toughest days we still get up and do the daily necessities. But it’s been a bit tough so I have not been home to be consistent with blog posts yet. I’m not going into detail too too much about my personal life on here so let’s get to the recipe post. Taiwanese Black Sesame Oil Chicken Soup: 1 Whole Chicken or 3-5 lbs of chicken *see note 1 Bottle Sake (750ml) *see paragraph 1 Cup Black sesame oil *see note 1 Cup Ginger sliced 1/2cm thick (1/8"in) 1 tsp MSG *Optional 2 cubes Rock Sugar (about a tsp) 1 tsp Salt (you can add more later) 1/2 tsp White Pepper 4 Cups Water Optionals: Goji Berries Dates One cup of fresh squeezed ginger juice Thats literaly it... this recipe is probably one of the shortest recipes...

Soup Season is Upon Us: Corn Chowder

Soup season is finally here~! So I have a Corn Chowder recipe for you today. Corn Chowder~ 2 Cups Corn (Fresh or canned) *See note* 1 Lb Bacon (Chopped) 2 Lbs Potatoes (Cubed) 2 Carrots (Cubed) 1 Large Onion (Cubed) 2 Stalks Celery (Cubed) 1 Cup Heavy Cream 2 Cups Milk 2 Cups Chicken or Vegetable Stock 1 Tsp Ground Coriander 1 Tsp Black Pepper 1 Tsp Paprika 1 Tsp Parsley 1 Tsp Marjoram *Optional* 1/2 Tsp White Pepper 4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter 4 Tbsp Flour Steps: 1. In a large pot or dutch oven, brown the bacon reserving some for garnish with the soup. 2. Once bacon is browned, leave about a tablespoon of bacon grease in the pan, add in butter and spices, sauté the vegetables until brown. 3. As soon as the veggies are browned add in your stock, milk, and heavy cream and allow to simmer until the potatoes are tender. 4. Taste for salt and seasons, adjust if needed at this point. 5. Garnish with reserved bacon, and serve. ...

When Autumn goes, winter soon follows~

Its officially November, and somehow time has passed even faster than it used to. I coulda sworm just the other day I was busy walking the streets of Taipei. But, being back at this home, reminds me that I sincerely love the cold weather. Also, its great for the skin but we can get into that another day. Not much to report on today and I dont have a recipe for yall. Just a little life update~ Still unpacking and organzing the rooms. Finally got all the suitcases put away. Still painting away at commissions. But I do have a question to anyone reading this. At what point do you think you'd give up driving? I ask this because while running errands today I was stuck behind a granny going 20 mph/ in a 55... the whole 2 miles it took for me to get home. And I'm hesitant to say she shouldn't have been driving, but I also don't think she should have been driving... I'm just curious~ Not trying to be agist or anything... But I'd give up driving if I was in Taipei n...
