Hello! And a Spiced Potato Recipe

So I guess, its about time to start laying down some ground work for everything going on in my life. So to start, a little about me.

I'm a dual citizen, transplant from Taipei, Taiwan.
American born and rasied.
Im an artist and a chef.
I am gay, and I'm married.
And constantly floating between two worlds, two very different worlds.

This blog will be more of a life blog, recipes, photos, memories, and art.

Why dont you youtube?
Long story short, I'm not one to be infront of a camera often, I'm much more comfortable behind a camera. I enjoy my privacy and my solitude. And a blog suits me way more than a camera can. I like being able to marinate and really think about my words that I use. English is not my first, second, or third language and it takes a little to process through everything even though I did grow up in the states.

Since this is my first post, lets keep it simple and sweet.

Today: October 26th, 2023

Woke up, made breakfast: Sawmill Gravy, Toasted Baguette, and some spiced breakfast baby potatoes. Simple, easy, and delicious.

I'll include the recipe for the Spiced Potatoes
2 lbs Baby potatoes (cut in 1/2 or just cube up a potato into 1" cubes)
1 Tbsp Butter
1 Tbsp Neutral Oil (I used canola today)
1 Tsp Ground Coriander
1 Tbsp Dehydrated Onions
1 Tsp Onion Powder
1 Tsp Paprika
1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
1/2 Tsp MSG
1/2 Tsp Salt

1 Cup Water with 1 Tbsp Chicken stock powder
(look, I just got back in the country and havent had time to fully stock up on anything, also cooking should be enjoyable not this heavily beaded on task, work with what you've got.)

Steps:
1. In a decently large skillet, melt butter and add oil to a hot pan, and then add in potatoes and allow to lightly brown.
2. Once browned add in all your herbs and spices and stir them to combine.
3. Once combined flip all your potatoes to cut side down.
4. Add in your chicken stock mix, and allow to simmer until the water is gone, the potatoes are done, and you are left with a rich sauce.

While I make these for breakfast often, you can really use these any time of day, great side for any meal or occasion! This is seriously an easy recipe and doesnt take much time, you can alter it to your liking however you see fit.

Following breakfast, which was more like a late lunch... I watered the plants with my husband~ ran a few errands~ and got to work on some commissions.

Watched "Marry My Dead Body" a Taiwanese BL, comedy, romance. I wont go into details about it but like most Taiwanese movies, there is a lot of heart in the film. It makes you laugh and definitely has some tear worthy moments as well.

Now I'm creating this blog while another layer of paint is drying, welcome to my world, I hope you find something here that can add to your life.
